4th of July Weekend

We had a fun 4th of July weekend with the family up in Cadillac. On Friday it was a bit chilly, and in the afternoon my mom, Liz and I went to check out "The Greatest Fourth in the North" in Lake City. Lets just say there must not be much competition if that's the greatest fourth in the north :) We could have bought some nice earrings at the craft show made from fishing lures... and they were guaranteed to catch us fish! We passed on those though. The fireworks in Cadillac were on Friday night as well. We had hoped to keep Jonah up for them, but by 9:30 he had had enough, so he missed out. The fireworks were not so spectacular, but in the middle of them the sprinklers came on and got a few people wet, so that added a little excitement for the few people watching from the lawn. :)
On Saturday we went up to Traverse City for the day for the Cherry Festival and to watch the air show. It was a gorgeous day, and Jonah loved watching all the airplanes and eating lots of popcorn!
On Sunday we enjoyed one of Wade's pancake breakfasts, then Chris and Jonah played in the lake for awhile and I enjoyed some time on the beach, and then we took Jonah on his first paddleboat ride. Last weekend Jonah learned to swim in the pool & lake with swimmies on, so he is alot more independant in the water. On one hand its really nice because he is not clinging to us the whole time in the pool, on the other hand its kind of scary that he is so much more confident around the water. After some play time my dad made some delicious kabobs on the grill. Good work dad :)
